兩岸廉航興起，一分錢一分貨，廉航雖然機票便宜，但餐飲自費，座位小、沒娛樂設備、更改班次要收費；機上手提行李尺寸、手提行李限重都有規定，有人形容「魔鬼就藏在細節裡」。
大陸出境旅遊發燒，廉航生意也跟著大好。福建一家組團社表示，由於大陸旅遊起步較晚，廉航在大陸的市場也屬於初期，還有很多人並不了解廉航的營運模式，期盼若太高就可能造成更大落差，較容易產生糾紛。
林姓組團社業者表示，目前大陸的長假期就是旅遊旺季，帶來的結果必然是旅行成本上漲，在預算不夠的情況下，肯定會選擇廉價航空出遊，如果是境內遊，大陸的廉價航空很少，只有春秋和吉祥，出境遊多半是外籍航空，但因廉價航空市場才剛起步，許多人並不太熟悉，於是就容易衍生糾紛。
「其實在服務上，廉航和一般航空沒多大差別，主要是在行李的限制和機上服務。」林姓組團社業者表示，行李的限制是所有廉航的特點，消費者事前買票時就要了解內容，如果覺得不妥就不要訂位。
另一名江南組團社表示，廉航在大陸不一定搶得過一般航空，因為如果在冷門航線又碰到淡季，一般航空公司也會降價。他舉例說，例如某段航程廉航是399元，但一般航空促銷時價格也可能跌到450元左右，在這種情況下，有的消費者會撿便宜，但有的消費者就認為多付幾十元可以不受廉航的限制，而選擇一般航空。
台灣廉航玩家Sunny建議，若選擇搭乘廉航出遊，可刷卡買機票或購買旅遊不便險，否則滯留外地難免有支出，有保險不無小補。
